Mountain by Ahmed AlRasheed

They looked at me, like I was a prize, both males as I was told by my mother. She made certain I knew what I was going to see from this agonizing world; humans. That’s what she called these species, ugly, scary, disgusting humans. Continue reading

As we ascended down the Hellmouth caves, we could hear the sounds of The Wakening. Six of us scavenged through the undying lands looking for Crota, there we encountered the deadly thralls of the Hive decent. Continue reading

“What happened?” I asked. “You’ve been hit by a camel, Mr. Rauch. But you seem to be fine. I have checked your vitals and it seems like you have recovered extraordinarily fast.” Continue reading

Color by Ahmed AlRasheed

I left the house in a hurry, speed walking to my charger. I got into my orange-based car and drove off hitting a parked car in the process. I then decided to hit and run because why stop now? Kaifi Kuwaiti. I was heading towards the gas station, I needed gas, something not a lot of hit and runners want to do after an incident. Continue reading

Sciamachy by Ahmed AlRasheed

Sound the alarm! I thought as I jogged outside my room into the hallway. Milo-Cesspool Grendoz is after me, a treacherous man that hacks hearts and tears the living beats out of them. Why am I being followed you ask?

It all started on a pleasant beautiful afternoon, where I was out for dinner with my beloved wife. We sat at the Rome de Tour restaurant, which was her favorite. I noticed that the Tobasco sauce was misplaced. It was set aside next to my wife, making her want a taste. My wife willingly picked up the bottle and started to dab her food. At that moment, I had suspicion that something might go wrong. “SALT!” I screeched as I knocked the spoon out of her hand, and with shock of my doings she got up. “I can’t do this anymore, I really can’t.” Tears came rushing out of her eyes as she left the restaurant. Three months have passed and I have been alone, without a wife, and Milo-Cesspool Grendoz the person responsible for all the tragedy. If it weren’t for that Tabasco sauce I would still be with my beloved wife, my cherub. Well, It’s over, for that I will fight in her honor, and win her heart back!

I ran into the hallway, gashing through people, trying to get to the reception hall where I will find my nemesis, M.S.Grendoz. I picked up a baseball bat from my room and was planning on using it, planning on getting my beloved back, determined to succeed. I walked into the reception, and there she was, standing next to Milo. Milo is that person who answers to no one, a person who could end lives with the lift of a finger. I walked slowly towards him and smiled at my wife in the process and she smiled back. It was nice to see her smile for mere seconds, before it went away with me whacking Milo with my baseball bat and knocking him down. I continued to beat on him until a crowd of people gathered among us as I was held down.

“Oh my god, GREG!” yelled my wife and grabbed his head, as blood was gushing out of his head. His head was busted open and bruised all over, I was still down, and wondered what I did wrong. “Who’s Greg?” I asked with a heavy tone still panting for air. I was dragged inside to my room, where I was locked in.

“Mrs. Peanisbreath, your ex-husband, Mie, is suffering from a term we like to call Sciamachy. He is in his own wor…” the conversation was broken because I struck the doctor’s head with my baseball bat aiming at his conscious. With what I have done to my wife, she is now terrified of me, and ran towards the exit doors as I saw her leave me, Mie Peanisbreath, all the time I have saved her while she ran away with other people. Maybe I am to blame, for hitting everyone she was with, but alas!! I know one thing for certain, SHE’S Milo-Cesspool Grendoz, and my job isn’t over. I hummed the tune of Game of Thrones as I could see her shadow through the glass doors still running, running for her life, my baseball bat still leaking blood. TAN TAN TANANA TAN TANANANA TAN TANA TAN….

Operation Smearoff by Osman Naeem and Ahmed AlRasheed

Base. 1300 hours:

The world around General Heisenberg was clashing, as he knew war was immanent. The General gathers his troops around the table for his briefing. “Soldiers!” As he looked at his fat Sergeant, Roethlisberger and his 1st Lieutenant, Fritz. “We are under attack and we need to act now!” Looking closely at them he decides to send them off first. “We shall send in a squad, you two should be in it. I have already sent in Sergeant Colace down for recon, but he has been missing for sometime now!” A huge rumble came as the enemies fired a warning shot.

The troops gather up to be deployed, waiting for General Heisenberg to give the final order.

Behind Enemy Lines. 2 hours ago:

“Sergeant Colace, I need you to go down there and be my eyes and ears.” General Heisenberg stated, “The enemy are rattling the cages and we need to put a termination to it, only setback is we need help reckoning where they are.” “Forget about the pawns, I say we go straight for the king,” said sergeant Colace, who the army nicknamed The Exorcist. “We enter the caves of Kabaz that leads us directly to our destination, and then make our way through the Valley of Manhood which joins with the ocean from there the navy takes over” The General nods to the Black Operation and affirmed, “If you get wedged, you know we will be there to get you out, good luck Sergeant!”

Sergeant Colace salutes his General as he marched out to get ready for his mission. Sgt. Colace got into his scuba gear and dives into the waterfall, as he knows he should be careful, as he has entered enemy lines.

Operation Smearoff. 1400 hours:

The troops are ready to be deployed as the world around them clashed, war has began. Sgt. Berger and Lt. Fritz were to lead the troops to a fight they may not come back from, but it was for the better cause. The cause to free the world of agonizing pain and hunger and return it to what it was before, peaceful and calm.

“Operation Smearoff begins, this fight may be your last, or your first. In the past, you may have been wimps, cowards, thieves or dishonest men, but today you prove everybody wrong! Prove to yourself you are worthy of such task and that you shall free this world from the devil within! The enemies shall not have mercy, so DON’T show them any! Unless, you’re taking them out, TO DINE IN HELL!” The troops yell and cheer as they praise their General’s speech. Before, these men were from happy families that had meals together everyday and simply enjoyed the humble life of amity and prosperity. Now, these men will commence the most brutal attack on their enemies. Stepping off home soil to protect the world from the Axis of Evil. They knew they were taking all of humanity’s demons to hell with them; these men were called The Reapers.

Hope. 1700 hours:

Twenty planes in a sonic boom transformed to a few hundred paratroopers, the enemy grew tenfold, as the abandoned island of now seemed to run out of ground to stand on. The Reapers were weakened and they were tired, but they never gave up. They fought for independence, they had a cause. “tsht, this is Hotel calling all troops do you copy? over tsht” General Heisenberg reported on the walkie talkie. “tsht, THIS IS ROMEO, tsht, WE ARE SURROUNDED AND WE NEED BACK UP! OVER tsht” screamed Sgt. Berger as him and his troops were in a standoff between hundreds of enemies.

The numbers were in no ones favor as nature lost grip of its temper and rapid thunder sounded the coming of a hurricane, with strong winds and cold wrath, as the rain now joined forces with mother earth and muddied and bloodied humanity’s boots. This merciless force had consumed all but a few. The Reapers took cover in the woods that opened into the valley of Manhood. They ran towards the warmth of the dense forest that was slowly dying from the horrors of mustard gas.

1900 hours:

“tsht, This is Hotel do you copy? Over tsht” General Heisenberg has not heard from his troops for sometime. Communications was lost when the tsunami hit. “tsht, This is Hotel does anyone read me? Over tsht.”

What was left behind these enemy lines were corpses scattered everywhere, organs and limbs had become a part of the debris that is smeared everywhere. The place now looked like the aftermath of a torture chamber. Nature washed away its sins with a tsunami like no other, and there was no evidence of the loss suffered by the alliance and the axis. In the end, a white flag was raised, signifying the restoration of peace, and the exile of evil that plagued humanity.

General Heisenberg knew he won the battle, with the cost of losing his Reapers, which saddened him. He stood up, turned around and reached for the flush. He flushed down the enemies as he walked out of the McDonald’s bathroom with victory by his side.

Noah by Ahmed AlRasheed

In order to understand this, you must first learn who Noah really is.

Spring Hill, Kansas, is a place where people are born, raised, then die there. Noah is my name, and yes I was born and raised in this humdrum town. I’m in my fifties, I live alone, and most people around here think that my life is a great example of a midlife crisis. I am a math teacher at Spring Hill Middle School. Go, Monkeys. When you live in a town where everybody knows everybody, you get that faint feeling that this town has no reason to be in existence, ever. I mean- let’s face it, we try to go for a university degrees, but this town seems to always fall back. I remember that Billy Hill was the town’s smartest man, he even got accepted into Colby Community College. After he graduated he came back and opened a grocery store which he named Limpy. I might also want to mention that my neighbor married his cousin simply for the sake of “experimenting” and this led to a shotgun marriage.

My sister Roxy, who is also my cousin, thinks I should marry Jenna, our second cousin. It annoys me that everyone thinks down at marrying within the family. YOU’RE WRONG! Keeping our sacred gene pool within the family is a number one priority at the Winston house! Anyways, I tend to walk around town saying hi to people, including Mindy. She’s a waitress at a diner at the corner of Lawrence and Madison. She is hot! “I’ll see you at work?” I gave her a toothless smile. It’s half past eight and I should head to Plan B. I get into my gold 1999 Buick Century, she’s my special dirty old hag. It puffs black smog and is loose in all parts. I get on highway 169 driving south towards the open road. It appeared out of nowhere, the sign on the building I work in, it is made of neon lights and shaped in the figure of a naked woman on a stripper pole. Three cars were parking, alongside a motorbike and a truck. I walk into Plan B, and the cigarette smoke filled up the whole building, Luke Bryan is playing in the background and people are waiting. I go to the backstage and get ready. Mindy was there, on time, so I smile. It’s show time.

Mindy starts to introduce me, “Gentlemen and gentlemen, the all time streak record holder, the legendary MC of Spring Hill’s history, NOAH WINSTON!” I dash out from behind the curtains, the thrill was making my heart pound louder and louder, as the stale claps emerged from the dull crowd. With a huge smile on my face I thought to myself, I’m a star!

“But Daddy I Love Him” by Ahmed AlRasheed

I ran and ran and ran and my heart thumped as I bled tears. Scared and petrified, I wanted to hide. I wanted to stay away from everyone’s sight. I know I lost him. I know I will never see him again. Yet, I felt like I did. I felt like I could talk to him. He was my everything, and I miss him. He would smile whenever I was sad, and it made me smile creating that comforting feel when knew everything was going to be okay. I miss him and I want to see him. How can he just go away like that, disappear and leave me here alone? I wept as I slowed my pace, and in a flash of a second, I collapsed to my hands and knees. I crawled to the nearest tree and laid my back against it. While I sat head sunk deep into my knees, crying, weeping my tears for him. Suddenly a hand touched my shoulder, it was warm and as I looked up, my dad was there standing, wanting to comfort me. He sat next to me and without hesitation I leaped into his arms, crying into his chest. “It’s okay sweetheart,” he held me closer as his eyes teared up, knowing exactly how I felt. “But daddy I love him!”  From then on, we sat there, looking down at the graveyard, where my husband joined my mom in a journey into the clouds. The place they went to had no feelings, and even if there was it was only of what they had left. The feeling wasn’t happiness as it was thought to be, it was happiness but with something missing, me.

Smoke by Ahmed AlRasheed

The bedroom door opened and all you can see is the shadow of this delicate creature. Her curves are so defined that you could almost see smoke escaping her pores. There she was unclothed, fine, and precious, walking slowly towards me begging for something. The moonlight trickled from the seeping sky and gleamed off her long velvety hair. Her skin glowed bronze from the bleeding sunlight that shines every morning. When I looked upon her from head to toe, it seems as though her divine legs continue to drift, from her waist to the tip of her toes. The angel approaches me and sits on the side of the bed tempting me to touch her. Her polished back looked like it could be featured in a painting. The angel suddenly turns around and lays down right next to me, so close I could feel her comforting breath. Her lips full and inviting seeking attention to them with a clean quirk of her lips. I look up just in time to be soaked into her mythical almond shaped eyes, so clear and so precise its hard to compare to anything. I put my hand around her, pulling her closer to me, her breasts brushing against my chest. There was this smell, her unique smell, and it was hers alone. And it triggers memories, good memories. She looked at me knowing exactly what i was thinking, she knew my intentions for her were feisty, she comes closer to my ear and whispers, “Not today, I’m tired honey.”

Glass by Ahmed AlRasheed

By Ahmad Al Rasheed

How do I get out of here? The great outdoors is right there in front of me. I go from one end to the next, but it appears that I can’t leave this atrocious place.  People are trying to get me in any way possible, as if I am an undesirable. The force field in front of me is limiting my escape from this room. My brain can’t process this technology; it forbids me from leaving, yet I can walk on air. All of a sudden, everything blacks out, THUD! I squint my eyes one last time, and in a blur I see a person opening this “force field”, scoops me up and throws me out. As I fall to my doom, I realize that all this time, it was just a glass window, separating a fly from the outside world, to freedom.
