You said it was love at first sight,

Oh how I dreamed those words would ring true

The first time you saw me, your eyes sparked with delight

I knew then, that I would be chosen by you

At first you would tread lightly

Taking care not to harm me

However, as days passed

Every step you took grew heavy

I feel the burden growing

Try as I may to keep it together

The threads that keep us tethered

Are slowly drifting  

The day we part is coming!

I can only hope that you felt

All the love and protection

In every step you took
